Johanna Kjildgaard*

Mrs. Johanna Kjildgaard died Wednesday, November 1, at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. A. Farnberg, in Blair. Mrs. Kjildgaard and son Carl, of Big Springs, Nebr., had visited with relatives at Herman and Blair for the past two weeks and were ready to start for their home when she was taken ill. Johanna Johnson was born in Jernaker, Norway, October 15, 1860. She came to this country in 1880 and located near Herman. Four years later she was united in marriage to Martin Kjildgaard. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, one son dying in infancy. The husband died January 20, 1912. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Andres, Carl and Miss Mary Kjikldgaard of Big Springs and Herman of Brush, Colo.; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Gilbert Anderson of Norfolk, Nebr., Mrs. Louis Farnberg of Blair, Mrs. O.A. Johnson of Herman, and Gilbert Johnson of Niobrara. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Herman on Saturday and burial was in the Thone cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Kjeldgaard, a resident of the Herman neighborhood died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Louis Farnberg of this city, on Wednesday, November 1 at 12 o’clock noon.

Miss Anna Johnson was born in Norway in 1860 where she grew to womanhood, coming to America in the year 1880. She was married to Mr. Martin Kjeldgaard of this county in 1884, and since that time has made her home on a farm west of Herman.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Keldgaard, three of whom are living, two sons and a daughter, the husband and father having died about twelve years ago.

The funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Herman on Saturday at 2 o’clock p.m., and interment made in the Thone cemetery.

MRS. KJILDGAARD LAID TO REST IN THONE CEMETERY

The funeral of Mrs. Anna Johanna Kjildgaard, who died at the home of her sister, Mrs. L. A. Farnberg, in this city on November 1st, was held at Herman and burial was made in the Thone cemetery, Rev. Peter Vig conducting the obsequies.

Mrs. Kjildgaard was born in Norway October 15, 1860, and was aged 62 years and 17 days. She lived in this community for twenty one years. Her husband passed away a number of years ago and is buried in the Blair cemetery.

Several years ago she went to Blue Springs, Nebr. to make her home with her children, and was visiting her sister, Mrs. L. A. Farnberg, when she was taken ill with pneumonia, gradually growing worse until the end came.

She is survived by three grown children, two sisters and other relatives.
