Soll, Wilhelmina M. 12/30/1964

Note: 2 obituaries, nearly identical, but with some grammatical errors, name abbreviations and diverse spellings, a death day confusion and a different street address. The earlier one had 306 Adams St., the 2nd had 1306 Adams (the 2nd is more likely correct). The earlier had that she was survived by only her niece, Amelia; the 2nd that Amelia lived “at home” (i.e. at her house) “and several other nephews and nieces and a host of friends.” The first had a pallbearer named Whisenind; the 2nd Whisenand. The 2nd one is below. The first one noted that she died Thursday, the 2nd Wednesday evening, Dec. 30th (Dec. 30, 1964 was a Wednesday. The first one noted that the funeral was “today (Monday)” The first one seemed rushed—the 2nd one most likely represented corrections called in by the public. The 2nd one is below.

Additional note: there is a German Lutheran Cemetery in Bennington, which is better known as Flower Hill. There is a German Cemetery in Washington County. The funeral home looked up the records—her father was Josia Soll and mother Carolina (Gotch) who are buried at the Washington County German Cemetery. The death was at home, and niece, Amelia, reported the death.
