HELEN ARNOLD, 89

Services for Helen Arnold, 89 of Blair who died October 11, 1995 at Crowell Memorial Home will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 14 at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Helen Frances Arnold was born October 15, 1905 at Cherokee, Iowa to Samuel and Nelle Harbaugh Stevens. She moved to Blair from Tekamah in 1916 at the age of 11.

In 1921, she joined the First United Methodist Church.

She married Clarence Arthur Arnold April 7, 1926. They moved to a farm northwest of Blair and lived there until April, 1988 at which time she moved to Crowell Memorial Home after suffering a stroke.

She was a member of the Blair Chapter of the War Mothers, Daughters of the American Revolution, Extension Club, National Daughters of 1812, the Farm Bureau, and had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star since 1923.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, who died in January of 1995; one son, Clayton; a daughter-in-law, Betty; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Leonard Loftis, Jr., of Herman; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Connie Arnold, Herman; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Bassett, Oak Harbor, Washington and Clarice Whitaker of Blair and one brother, Art Stevens, Akron, Ohio.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
