Bruce A. Rasmussen, 61

Bruce A. Rasmussen, 61, of Blair, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, at First United Methodist Church in Blair with a luncheon following. Visitation will be Monday with family receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Bruce A. Rasmussen was born on Nov. 25, 1953, in Fremont, to Franklin and Jean (Taylor) Rasmussen. He was raised in Blair and the surrounding area.

Bruce attended Blair High School and later joined the United States Army. After his discharge from the Army, he returned to Washington County and spent years as an over-the-road truck driver. Bruce owned and operated his own tree transplanting company for a number of years.

Bruce enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was well known for his sense of humor and love of storytelling. During the last few years, he enjoyed attending his weekly prayer group.

Bruce is survived by children: Matt (Pam) Rasmussen of Bennington, Mitch (Kim) Rasmussen of Bennington, Nick (Renee) Schroeder of Blair, Amanda (Fred) Perkins of California, Jake Rasmussen of Tekamah (special friend Melissa Carter), Buck (Stephanie) Rasmussen of Bennington and Abigail Rasmussen (special friend Mike Lomahaftewa) of Arizona; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters: Mary (Wes) Long, Rebecca Finn and Valorie Jensen of Blair; uncle Bill (May) Taylor of Oakland; aunt Peggy Taylor of Blair; six nephews; a niece; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; uncles and aunts: Jim (Rae) Taylor, Stan (Dorothy) Taylor and Leonard Rasmussen.

Memorials are suggested to Rose Hill Cemetery.
