FLOMA SPRINGAN, 98

Floma Springan, 98, of the Fontanelle area, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at the Hooper Care Center.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 6, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Winslow. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Floma (Hartung) Springan was born Jan. 26, 1908, in Hooper to Frederick and Ida (Panning) Hartung. She was raised in the Fontanelle area and lived on the same farm, until 1979, when she moved to live with a son on his acreage near Telbasta. She moved to the Hooper Care Center in 2002.

On Sept. 6, 1936, she married Raymond Springan. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was baptized Feb. 9, 1908, and confirmed in 1921. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid, and she quilted at Immanuel until moving to Hooper.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William and Karen Springan of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and James Springan of Hooper; daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and David Bauers of Fremont; five grandchildren and their families; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Doretta Mae, and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Lorenz Dunklau.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Hooper Care Center.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
