Funeral services for Bernard Springer, 81 who died at the University of Nebraska Medical Center August 20, 1992, were Saturday, August 22 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel with burial in the Grandview Cemetery at Sidney, Iowa.

Bernard L. Springer was born March 30, 1911 near Portsmouth, Iowa to William and Alice Ickes Springer.

In 1935 he married Fern Henry of Sidney, Iowa. To this union two sons, Richard and James were born.

In later years, he married Lillian Frum and continued farming around the Sidney area until he retired and moved to town.

His wife, Lillian preceded him in death in 1983 at which time he moved to Blair, Nebraska to be near his two sons.

In 1986 he married Charlotte Greenwood Poitevin. She preceded him in death in 1991. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard; one granddaughter, Lori Springer; and two brothers and four sisters, Howard Springer, Frank Springer, Mildred Tracy, Laura Mallory, Bernice Johnson and Helen Pickard.

He is survived by his son and wife, Jim and Carol Springer; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Springer, all of Blair; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cliff Springer, Oakland, Iowa; and Henry Springer, Dunlap, Iowa; and many nephews and nieces.
