Services were Monday, April 19 at First Lutheran Church in Blair for Bruce Klanderud, age 45 of Blair, who died at the Memorial Community Hospital April 16, 1993. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Bruce Klanderud was born December 30, 1947 at Yankton, South Dakota, to Wendell and Barbara Nelson Klanderud. He graduated from Blair High School in 1966.

He had been employed with the city of Blair, working at the Water Treatment Plant.

On December 1, 1971, he joined the Blair Fire Department and was an active member until his death. He served as foreman for Company “B” in 1977, foreman for Company “A” in 1978, second assistant chief from 1979 to 1981 and first assistant chief from 1982-1983.

He served in the Army National Guard from 1967-1973.

Surviving him in death are a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Harvey Klanderud-Gould, Monterey, California; daughter Abigail Klanderud, Blair; son, Tyler Klanderud, Omaha, Nebraska; parents, Wendell and Barbara Klanderud, Blair; grandmother, Helen Nelson, Battle Creek, Iowa; three brothers, Brian, Blair; Brent, Sioux City, Iowa and Barry, Hemet, California and one sister, Konda (Mrs. Tim) Nietfeld of Blair.

Casketbearers were Ed Hansen, Merle Hansen, Dennis Heimes, Ron Livermore, Ron Short and Richard Stork.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
