PHILLIP GLENN ARNOLD, 60

Services for Phillip Glenn Arnold, 60 of Fort Calhoun who died December 5, 1992 at Blair after a long battle with cancer were Monday, December 7 at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Rev. Ken Jansen officiated. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Phillip Glenn Arnold was born September 4, 1932 in Brown County, Kansas on the family farm about one mile north of Sabetha, Kansas to John P. and Ethel May Rolston Arnold. He attended school and graduated from Franklin District No. 52 in Brown County.

He joined the Navy at the age of 16 and saw action in the Korean Conflict. While in the Navy, he learned the electrical trade and left the navy as an Electricians Mate Third Class.

He was a truck driver in the Kansas City area after leaving the Navy. It was during this time that he learned to fly.

In the 1960s he moved to Omaha where his brother, John operated a small garage and service station for three years. They both then left the automotive business and went to work for Aircraft Service Co. where he rebuilt, picked up and delivered aircraft.

He returned to construction and driving truck in the 1970s.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Loy.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Joyce Arnold of Austin, Texas and two brothers and their wives, John and Ember of Fort Calhoun and Gene and Peggy of Kansas City, Missouri.

Pallbearers were Jim Pollock, Jerry Soll, Troy Graves, Doug Pollock, Billy Soll and Mike Roney.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
