#1-14 Mar., 1935 - The Enterprise HENRY KLASSEN DIES

Henry Klassen, aged 58 years, died at the Lord Lister hospital in Omaha March 7, 1935. Deceased was a native of Germany, coming to this county when but a boy, and here he grew to manhood. In 1901 he was married to Louise Neuman, and to them one son and four daughters were born. The son passed away in infancy.

He is survived by his wife and the four daughters, Mrs. Earl Smith, Mrs. Barton Love, both of Omaha and Mrs Walter Sappenfield and Mrs. Joseph Stratbucker, both of fort Calhoun.

Funeral services were held in Fort Calhoun on Saturday afternoon, and interment made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.

Henry Klassen was born in Lubeck, Germany April 30, 1876, and passed away at the Lord Lister hospital in Omaha March 7. Mr. Klassen came to this country when a small boy, and has lived continuously in this community. In 1901 he was married to Louise Neuman. To this union were born five children, one son and four daughters. The son died in infancy. Mr. Klassen was employed by the C. St. P. M. & O. railway company as a section hand for a good many years, which position he held until several months ago. Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Earl Smith, Mrs. Barton Love of Omaha, Mrs. Walter Sappenfield and Mrs. Joseph Stratbucker of Fort Calhoun, four grandchildren, one brother, August, and two sisters, Mrs. Lena Rathjen and Mrs. Mary Asmussen and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the local Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, Rev. P. H. Prentice officiating, and interment was made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.

Henry Klassen, 68, Well-Known Retired Farmer, Died Thursday

Henry Klassen, 68, prominent resident of Fort Calhoun and vicinity for more than half a century, died suddenly last Thursday in an Omaha hospital after being ill about two months. Funeral services were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Prentice in charge. Interment was in the cemetery near there.

Mr. Klassen, a native of Germany, came to the United States when a boy, and immediately came to the Fort Calhoun region, where he had remained since. He was for years a farmer, but in recent years had lived in Fort Calhoun.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Walter Sappenfield and Mrs. Joe Strabucker of Fort Calhoun and Mrs. Barton Love and Mrs. William Smith of Omaha; a brother, August Klassen of Fort Calhoun; and a sister, Mrs. Otto Asmussen also of Fort Calhoun.
