Mrs. Luise Klassen Dies

FORT CALHOUN WOMAN, 62, IS ILLNESS VICTIM: RITES TO BE FRIDAY

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Luise Klassen, 62, who died at her home there Tuesday from the effects of pneumonia. Burial will be in Fort Calhoun cemetery, under the direction of the Sievers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Klassen, widow of Henry Klassen, was found seriously ill Sunday by a roomer at her home, who became alarmed when she did not appear about the house as usual.

Mrs. Klassen was born in Germany as Luise Neumann, and came to America as a baby. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Martha Smith of Omaha, Mrs. Lena Love of Denver, Mrs. Walter Sappenfield (Alma) and Mrs. Joe Stratbucker (Ida), both of Fort Calhoun, Also surviving are a brother, living in Colorado, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Klassen, 61 year old Fort Calhoun woman who died on January 19, was held at the Calhoun Presbyterian Church on Friday afternoon. Burial was made in the Calhoun cemetery.

Mrs. Klassen’s death was the result of pneumonia, complicated by a heart attack. As Louise Henrietta Neuman, she was born in Germany on April 20, 1881 and as an infant came to America. Most of her life was spent in this part of Nebraska. She was married to Henry Klaassen on August 7, 1901, and five children were born to them. A son, William, who died in infancy, and the husband who passed away in March, 1935, preceded Mrs. Klassen in death.

Survivors include her four children: Mrs. Martha Smith of Omaha; Mrs. Alma Sappenfield of Fort Calhoun; Mrs. Lena Love of Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Ida Stratbucker of Fort Calhoun; also eight grandchildren and a brother, Carl Neuman of Fort Morgan, Colorado.
