Edna Klein, 88

A memorial service for Edna Freida Thompson Klein, 88 who died of cancer June 14, 1993 at her home in Maple Bluff, Wisconsin, was Saturday, June 26 at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison, Wisconsin. Rev, Nancy Idenden officiated.

The body was donated to the University of Wisconsin Hospital for research. It will be cremated with interment of the ashes in the columbarium at Grace Episcopal Church in Madison.

Edna Thompson was born February 14, 1905 in Arlington. She graduated from Arlington High School. She attended the University of Nebraska and studied to be a stage actress at the New York Academy of the Arts.

She married Victor M. Klein. They were married for over 53 years and traveled the world while he served in the military, including Hawaii, where he served at Pearl Harbor and their only child was born in December, 1941.

She was a resident of Madison for over 40 years and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the St. Andrews Scottish Society and the Maple Bluff Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, Victor of Maple Bluff and a daughter and her husband, Patricia K. and Michael Mansfield of Middleton, Wisconsin.

Memorials may be given to the Edna T. Klein Memorial Fund for the creation of a path to the rose garden at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin 53704 or to the memorial garden at Grace Episcopal Church, 116 West Washington Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin, 53703.
