LANDRY M. SWANSON, 10

Landry M. Swanson, 10, of Ardmore, Okla., died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at The Children's Hospital, OU Medical Center, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the First Baptist Church in Ardmore.

Landry Michael Swanson was born Oct. 1, 1999, in Liberal, Kan., to Lance and Christi (Trueblood) Swanson. He lived in Guymon, Okla., with his family until 2005, when they moved to Ardmore.

He loved playing all sports, including football, basketball, baseball and track. He played defensive back on the Ardmore 6th grade youth football team.

He loved to go fishing and hunting with his dad and brother. He was always playing with his little brother, Cal, and could always be found with his older brother, Carter, who looked after him and took care of him. Landry and Cal enjoyed running the daily errands and shopping with their mom.

The family is close-knit, and Landry especially enjoyed family vacations. He had a wonderful caring heart. He loved watching the animal channel, drawing and writing. He attended church and Sunday School at Trinity Lutheran.

He is survived by his parents and two brothers; grandparents, Pamela Swanson of St. Joseph, Mo., Chris and Dana Trueblood of Ardmore; uncles and aunts, Trent Swaston of Stillwater, Okla., Robin Dillon and Richard Dillon, both of Ringling, Okla., Tuesday and John Neary of Arlington; and five cousins; great-grandfather, Bill Hammond of Sidney; and other great-aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dr. Jerald E. Swanson, great-grandparents, Skeet and Robert Blankenship, Amy and Arch Tucker, Irene Swanson, and Gwen Hammond.

Memorials are suggested to the Ardmore Animal Shelter. A memorial fund has also been established at the American National Bank in Ardmore to support projects at Plainview Elementary and Charles Evans Elementary Schools.

Craddock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
