ANOTHER PIONEER OF SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP GONE

Close upon the demise of H. V. Hansen follows the death of Anson Hewett of Arlington, who about 34 years ago, was one of the original homesteaders of the Admah neighborhood. There he toiled for years, reared his family and built up a prosperous and beautiful home and was a noble neighbor and good citizen. But some time after the tragic death of his excellent wife, he abandoned the farm and made a home for himself and daughter Belle in Arlington. When she was taken from him, less than two years ago, he bore up cheerfully but it no doubt helped to break the cords that bound him to earth. His death took place last Saturday, from heart trouble, after an illness of only a few days. He leaves two married sons, F. L. Hewett who resides on the farm at Admah and A. L. Hewett, C.N.W. station agent at Scribner, both of whom were with their father at the last moment. He was born in Hope, Maine, where he has many relatives and was 73 years of age. The funeral took place yesterday and the interment was by his wife at Admah. We expect to have more complete particulars in regard to one of our best personal friends who will be mourned by all who knew his fine traits of character.

(There is an East Admah Cemetery and a West Admah Cemetery. A search of Washington County cemeteries online showed his burial to be in the East Admah Cemetery. )
