LEONARD EDWARD SWANSON, 81
Leonard Edward Swanson, 81, died Wednesday, March 4, 1987, at his home in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was a retired employee of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, and a 10-year resident of Memphis.
Swanson farmed in Thurston County for many years, and lived and worked in Omaha until 1972, when he bought a house in Thurston and lived there for several years.
He moved to Memphis in 1977 to be near his only daughter, Sandra Swanson Wiseman, and her husband, James R. Wiseman, and three grandchildren, Sean, Justin, and Amanda. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was married to Lela Wells Swanson, who preceded him in death in 1985.
Swanson was born July, 1905, at Kennard to Nels and Johanna Olson Swanson.
He has three surviving brothers; Harry Swanson of Blair; Albert Swanson of Blair; and Elmer Swanson of Papillion; one sister, Mrs. Howard (Alma) Widner, Tekamah, and many nieces and nephews.
