EMMETT STEFFEN, 72

Emmett William Steffen, 72, was born May 10, 1914 in Blair to Julius and Anna (Bushelman) Steffen. He died Tuesday, March 24, 1987. Steffen lived in rural Missouri Valley.

Steffen is survived by his wife, Marie Lillian (Betts); three sons, Wayne William Steffen of Clovis, California; Allen Lee Steffen of Omaha; and Lynn Wesley Steffen of Blair; and one daughter, Patricia Anne (Steffen) Shelton of Missouri Valley; granddaughters, Stephanie Pam Joy and Alyssa; one brother, Frank Steffen of Algona, Iowa; and by many relatives and friends.

Steffen worked as a tool and die machinest in several places, including Kelly Ryan, Emmet Hamptons at Kennard and Wilkinson Manufacturing in Fort Calhoun.

He retired from Nebraska Engineering in 1980 after working as a supervisor for 12 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, 1987 at the Assembly of God, with Rev. Elmer Murdoch and Rev. Perry C. Baublitz officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Don Betts; Larry Betts; Norman Betts; Bob Henricksen; Larry Henricksen; and Russell Steffen.
