Mary MacDonald, 82

Mary MacDonald, 82, of Blair, died Dec. 25, 2010, at Carter House in Blair from complications of Alzheimer's.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mary Espinosa was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Ben and Kate (Reiser) Espinosa. She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs.

On Feb. 24, 1955, she married Robert Leigh MacDonald in Wahoo.

Mrs. MacDonald began her career at the bomber plant in Omaha during World War II; she then moved on to Major Appliance and the Army Corps of Engineers. After moving to a farm near Blair, she did secretarial work at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church where she was a member; and worked at D. L. Blair.

She was involved in 4-H, Extension Club, St. Francis Borgia ladies' groups and kept busy with many hobbies.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Lucille Clark of Springfield, Ill., Mary Kathryn and Earl Larsen of Blair, and Annette and Bob Krueger of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Brenda of Blair; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank and Jan Espinosa of Forsyth, Mo., Joe and Sylvia Espinosa of Crescent, Iowa, James and Jean Espinosa of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; three sisters: Margaret Judkins, Dorothy Hurst, and Helen Sousa, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Vivian Gutschow of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2004; son-in-law, Jim Clark; brothers: John, Fred, Robert, George; sisters: Lucille, Marsha Lee, Helen.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church Building Fund.
