JULIUS J. STENDER DIED OCTOBER 17TH

Julius J. Stender, a resident of Washington County since 1890, died at the Dodge County Hospital on Tuesday, October 17th, of stomach trouble. At his death, he was 62 years of age.

Deceased was born in Germany and with his parents came to Washington in 1890, where he grew to manhood. In March of 1910, he married Mary Kruse. The wife passed away several years ago, leaving two children, William C., in the armed forces and stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and a daughter, Mrs. Eric Knudsen of this county.

During his life, deceased farmed until a number of years ago when he moved to Washington where he made his home until his death.

Besides the two children and one granddaughter, Mr. Stender is survived by four brothers, Emil and Chris of this county; Otto of Winside, Nebraska; and Ernest of Germany; also four sisters, Mrs. Fred Wulf of Blair; Mrs. Dora Petersen of Bedford, Iowa; Mrs. Gustav Auch of Bennington; and Mrs. Ben Bergman of Blair.

Funeral services were held last Thursday at 3:00 P.M. from the Lutheran Church at Washington and interment was made in the German cemetery.
