MILDRED E. “MILLIE” STEPHENS, 71
Services for Mildred E. “Millie” Stephens, 71 of Papillion, Nebraska and formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa who died March 4, 1995 at her home were Monday, March 6 at the Meyer Funeral Home Chapel. Anne Marie Aita, assistant to the pastor of Broadway Christian Church officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mildred “Millie” Stephens was born in Manilla, Iowa. She lived most of her lifetime in Council Bluffs.
She worked many years as a registered nurse in Dr. Joranson’s office and then for Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Broadway Christian Church and the JEMH Alumni Association.
She and her husband Carl would have been married 55 years March 10.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; a daughter, Susan Burgher of Fort Calhoun; her son, Bill of Littleton, Colorado; three grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Bayes of Altoona, Iowa and Janice Hill of Floyd’s Knobs, Indiana; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
