Richard Paul “Dick” Ahmann, 72

Richard Paul “Dick” Ahmann, 72, of Blair, died Monday, March 23, 2015.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at the church.

Dick was born June 11, 1942.

Dick and Carol moved their family to Blair in 1980 and immediately became involved in the church and Blair community.

Dick founded what was then The Blair Soccer Club. He remained involved with soccer, coaching his youngest daughter until high school. He continued to serve on the board and refereed games.

Dick was also an active member of the Blair Community Theatre. He was involved with many productions over the years. He loved to act, sing and was talented with set production. His most memorable role was as Tevye in “Fiddler On The Roof.”

Dick’s involvement with the church family continued until the end. He helped out wherever he could, he loved to sing in the choir and rarely missed a Sunday.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great‐grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by wife Carol (Kovar); daughter Vicki Potadle; sons: Paul (Lisa) and Greg; daughter Carrie Weaver (Steve); 13 grandchildren: Erica Franklin (Dustin), Luke Potadle, Jackson Potadle, Ross Ahmann, Dean Ahmann, Jack Lucas, Jonah Ahmann, Emily Ahmann, Abby Ahmann, Isabel Weaver, Isaac Weaver and Iris Weaver; two great‐granddaughters: Brooklyn and Brylee Franklin; siblings: Sue Johnston, Gary (Linda) and David (Jean); many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by parents Paul and Eleanor; brother Robert;l and infant grandson Ethan.
