Luree Ann McDonald, 88

Luree Ann McDonald, 88, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Saturday, March 21, 2015.

A memorial will be planned for later.

Luree, daughter of Arnold and Georgia Fuhlrodt, was born near Fontanelle, on May 1, 1926.

Luree had been living in Oklahoma City with her husband of 71 years, George Leroy McDonald, both formerly from Blair, when she suffered a stroke.

Luree worked as a realtor or secretary in many offices, in many states, throughout her career until her retirement when they moved to Oklahoma City in 1994. She was an accomplished pianist, a seamstress (a former 4-H sewing champion), a longtime bridge player and an exceptional game player, including Scrabble and daily crosswords.

Luree will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her ebullient laughter and her kind, optimistic, caring and intelligent nature. It was so easy to love her.

She had been a member of Putnam City Methodist Church for many years.

She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters: Cheryl (Harvey) McIntosh of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Connie (Ken) Greeley of Tucson, Ariz.; one son, Gregg (Annette) McDonald of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother Warren (Donna) Fuhlrodt of Blair; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mercer-Adams Funeral Service of Bethany, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.
