Tribune 21 July 1921

Wm. Robertson, a former Washington county pioneer, died at the home of his son, Charles Robertson, at Ft. Morgan, Colo., on July 11, 1921, aged 86 years, months and 2 days.

Mr. Robertson was born in Brackenridge county, Kentucky, on January 9, 1835, and was married October 8, 1861, to Mary A. French. They were the parents of nine children, two dying in infancy.

Mr. Robertson came with his family to Nebraska in 1871 and settled on a farm near Kennard, where he resided for thirty years, rearing his children to manhood and womanhood. In 1900 he moved to Perkins county, Nebr., which has since been his home.

His wife passed away February 9, 1920. Some time ago he went to Ft. Morgan, Colo., to visit his son and was taken ill several weeks ago. On account of his advanced years the family realized that his recovery could hardly be expected and the children were summoned to his bedside, where they remained for some time, but at the time of his passing only the son at Ft. Morgan was with him.

Deceased had been a constant member of the Presbyterian church for more than sixty years, but two years ago he transferred is membership to the Methodist church at Kennard.

The body was brought to Kennard last week and the funeral held at the Methodist church on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. W. H. Underwood of Blair, and burial was made in the family lot at Kennard.

His surviving relatives are his seven children, Mrs. John Blaco, Mrs. Chas. Cunningham, and George Robertson of Kennard; Mrs. Alice Menking and Wm. Robertson, of Elsie, Nebr.; Chas. Robertson, Ft. Morgan, Colo., and Mrs. Jessie Tallman, of Fremont; two half sisters, Mrs. Mattie Pate of Blair, and Mrs. Lillie Vorhies of Lincoln.
