ED STEVENS IS BURIED TODAY

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon for Ed Stevens, well known Blair man, who died Monday, June 12th.

Edgar E. Stevens was born at Blair September 17, 1880. As a young man he moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa where he learned the trade of machinist in the railroad shops there. He was married to Miss Stella Cooke in 1911 and they continued to live there for a time.

Later they moved to New Mexico, remaining there until 1924 when they returned to Blair. For many years Mr. Stevens was a clerk in the store of his brother-in-law, H. J. Cooke, and for several years he has been a tollkeeper at the Highway bridge over the Missouri river here.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Stella; a half sister, Mrs. Louise Stevens Hislop, of Englewood, California; and six nephews and nieces.

The funeral services are at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the Congregational Church. The Rev. Clare Olney will conduct the services and the Campbell Mortuary will carry out the interment in the Blair cemetery.

Pall bearers are Willian Ziegler, Roy H. Anderson, Wilbur Lowe, Ernest Tornblad, C. J. Schmidt and Manley Fisher.
