Robert Cathro Is Drowned On Duty

Robert R. Cathro, 21, seaman second class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Cathro of Ft. Crook, was drowned in line of duty his parents were informed Saturday. The youth’s father and William K. strode of Blair are cousins, and young Cathro was the fiancé of Miss Lorraine Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Hansen of Blair.

Cathro was a deep sea diver and had finished training about seven weeks ago. Details of the death were not disclosed in the telegram from Admiral Ronald Jacobs, Arlington, Va.

The boy’s father is chief operating engineer at Ft. Crook.
