Klinger, William

William Klinger died at the Blair hospital at 5 o’clock this morning of pneumonia, having been sick but just a week. He was taken to the hospital yesterday morning and lasted less than 24 hours. The funeral will be held at the Christian church some time the last of the week, a definite date cannot be set until all the children are heard from. Mr. Klinger was born in Ada, Ohio, October 14th, 1849, and was therefore just past 68 years of age. He was married there to Rebekah Stringellow in 1873 and they moved to Iowa soon thereafter. In 1880 they came to this city and this has been their home ever since. There are five children, two having died in infancy; Mrs. Ernest Gilliam, of Kansas City, Mo., Lee Klinger, of Lancaster, Minn., Ben Klinger, of this city, Mrs. F.F. Bishop, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Stanley McManigal, of this city. Mr. Klinger was a member of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department and always took a great interest in the doings of the Department. His many friends extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved wife and children.

James Kennelly passed away at the home of his brother, John southwest of here, last Wednesday night. Mr. Kennelly had been absent from his duties as city detective of Omaha for some time, having been granted a furlough because of failing health. He is survived by his mother, two brothers and two sisters. The remains were taken to Omaha Thursday morning and burial was made in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Wm. Klinger Passes Away

The report of the death of Wm. Klinger, which occurred at the Blair Hospital on Wednesday morning, after a few days illness, was a surprise to his friends and acquaintances who had not heard of his illness. Deceased was a native of Ohio and came to Blair in 1880 where he had since resided. His wife and five children, two sons and three daughter survive.

Funeral arrangement have not been definitely decided upon at this writing but it is announced that services will be held at the Christian Church as soon as relatives in distant parts are heard from.

#5 Printed in the November 7, 1917 Pilot The funeral of Wm. Klinger was held at the Christian church at 2 o’clock last Friday afternoon, Rev. J. B. Williams officiating. Six members of the Blair Volunteer Fire Department, in which organization Mr. Klinger had always taken a great interest, acted as pallbearers.
