Donald J. Kloewer, 77, of Defiance, Iowa, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Definace.

He is survived by his wife, Mickey of Defiance; their children, Denny and Denise Kloewer of Irwin, Iowa, and Diane and Stu Sprick of Fort Calhoun; four grandchildren; five great-grand-children; siblings: Kay and Jack Cook, Dorothy and Bill Johnson, and Mary Ann and Clyde Meyer, all of Omaha, Janette and Robert Dotzler, Bob and Karen Kloewer, John and Annette Kloewer and Rick and Nancy Kloewer all of Defiance, Lorrene and Bernard Assmann of Dunlap, Iowa, Jane and Eldon Meyer of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Joan and Jack Strudthoff of Woodstock, Ga., Suzanne and Bert Lehan of Marcus, Iowa, and brother-in-law, Gene Richards of Bellevue.

Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harland is in charge of arrangements.
