L. C. Klopp, Blair Jeweler Died Suddenly This Noon

L. C. Klopp, well known Blair Jeweler, died suddenly at noon today (Thursday) at the Blair Hospital. He had been at home throughout the morning and had gone to the hospital at noon where he died within a few minutes after entering.

Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mr. Klopp had been in ill health for several months and had been under the doctor’s care much of the time.

He was born in Chicago, March 22, 1898 and was 63 at the time of his death. He came to Blair in 1921 and had been a jeweler here for forty years.

Mr. Klopp is a past member of the Blair City Council, a past President of the Chamber of Commerce, a past President of the Blair Rotary Club; a long-time member of the board of the Congregational Church and a member of the Board of Deacons at the time of his death. He also served many years and filled offices of the Blair Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, who was associated with him in the operation of the store and by a son, Roger, who is a member of the teaching staff of the LeMars, Iowa, City Schools.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Congregational Church.

L. C. Klopp Rites Held Saturday

Funeral services for L. C. Klopp, 63, who died suddenly Thursday were held Saturday at the Congregational Church, the Rev. Clair Olney officiating with interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank Cope, Wayne Steinbaugh, Bert Faltys, Allen Laaker, Dr. C.C. Madsen and Phil Pagel.

Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
