12 Year Old Killed In Motorcycle Crash

Heath Lee Sparks, 12-year-old son of Larry Sparks and Colleen Sparks, died Sunday at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near his home in rural Dunlap.

Sparks was killed in an accident Sunday afternoon five miles southwest of Dow City on a country road.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Dow City. Burial was in the Dow City Cemetery.

Born June 15, 1971 at Blair, Nebraska, Heath was raised in the Dunlap area. He was a student in the Dow City Arion Community Schools.

Survivors include his father, Larry Sparks of rural Dunlap; his mother, Colleen Sparks of Dunlap; and his grandparents, Mrs. Ann Sparks of Fremont, Nebraska and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Gilbert of Tekamah, Nebraska. Also surviving is one half-brother, Troy Davis, of Denison, and one half-sister, Crystal Davis of Tekamah, Nebraska.
