Former Nickerson Woman Dies in Bellevue

Private family services were held for Mrs. William (Becky) Spencer, 37, of Bellevue, who died June 9, 1982, in Bellevue.

Authorities believe that Mrs. Spencer was shot and killed by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

Becky Spencer was born April 13, 1945, in Fremont. Formerly of the Fremont-Nickerson area, she was a graduate of Fremont High School and the University of Nebraska. She received her master’s degree in nutrition from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended the University of Texas Medical College in Dallas for two years and the University of Nebraska Medical School for two years.

She was married to William Spencer, who was serving with the United States Air Force at Offutt Air Force Base.

She is survived by her daughter, Liesa; her parents, Alan and Nellie Mulliken of Nickerson, and two brothers, Jerry Mulliken of Nickerson and Jack Mulliken of Fremont.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements for the services.
