Walter Roy Biffar

Roy Biffar, who lived with his parents Mr. and Mrs. N. Biffar about seven miles northwest of town, died at 6 o’clock last Thursday morning from blood poisoning. A few days before he was carrying a plank and it fell, running a rusty nail almost through his foot. In a day or so, it became sore and a doctor was called but blood poison had set in which caused his death. The funeral was held at the house at 2 o’clock on Saturday, Rev. Conley officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Roy was sixteen years old the 9th of May and was a good conscientious, clean boy, of whom his parents were justly proud.

Mr. and Mrs. Biffar have now lost three sons inside of three years. One son accidentally drowned while out after the cows and another died of typhoid fever.

DIES FROM LOCKJAW

Roy Walter, the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. T. Biffer, who live on a farm about seven miles northwest of Blair, died last Thursday morning from lockjaw caused by running a nail into his foot about a week before.

Deceased was born in this county May 9, 1891, and was a bright young man with a promising future. The funeral was held from the home of the parents Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock and the remains laid to rest in the Blair cemetery, Rev. Conley officiating.

A week ago Thursday the young man had the misfortune to run a nail into his foot and was placed under a physician’s care the next morning, and the wound seemed to be getting along nicely and no bad results were feared until early Wednesday morning when the lad was afflicted with lockjaw, death coming to his relief the following morning.
