Amber Ann Wood, 40

Amber Ann Wood, age 40, of Blair, died April 5, 2015, as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Valley.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Arlington City Auditorium, 410 West Elm Street, in Arlington. Private burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery at a later time.

Amber A. Wood was born on March 2, 1975, in Fremont, Nebraska, to H. Clyde and Sherry (Metzler) Kocher. Amber grew up in the Elkhorn area and attended Elkhorn High School, graduating with the class of 1993.

She always had a deep love of working with animals, and after high school worked in the animal and veterinary industry throughout her life. Amber especially had a passion for horses and trail riding.

She loved and laughed through life and has passed her vigor on to her children: Brantley Goos, Tristan Goos, Gavin Wood, Charlie Wood and Wyn Wood; stepdaughter, Mackenzie Kemp; mother, Sherry Kocher; and siblings: Edward Kocher, Steven (Sheila) Kuhr, Marie (Vince) Kruger, Russ (Sheila) Kocher, Stan (Veronica) Kocher, Kerry (Cecil) Henson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nate Wood; father, H. Clyde Kocher; sister, Robin R. Kocher; and special friend, Jason Miller.
