Adela E. Knecht, 91

Adela E. Knecht, 91, of Arlington, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at the Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Services were Monday, Dec. 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington with the Rev. Dr. Michael L. Rogers officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul’s Cemetery, Arlington.

Pallbearers were Calvin, Glen and Earl Dahlkoetter, Victor Stork, Albert Hokamp, Lyle Greunke and Milton Hilgenkamp.

Adela Dahlkoetter was born March 11, 1907, at Arlington to Willliam and Lizzie (Stork) Dahkloetter. She moved with her family to Grant in Perkins County in 1925. She returned to Arlington area a short time later.

On April 28, 1939, she married Otto T. Knecht at Arlington. The couple farmed northeast of Arlington. Mrs. Knecht moved into Arlington in 1975 after the death of her husband on Jan, 5, 1975.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was active in the Arlington Over 60 Center.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Gary Quast of San Lorenzo, Calif,, and Doris Knecht of Arlington; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Alberta Dahlkoetter of Rio Rancho, N.M. and Alfred and Irene Dahlkoetter of Ogallala.

ARLINGTON --- The funeral for Adela E. Knecht, 91, of Arlington will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

She died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at Arbor Manor Living Center.

Adela Dahlkoetter was born March 11, 1907, at Arlington. She moved with her family to Grant in Perkins County in 1925. She returned to the Arlington area a short time later. She married Otto T. Knecht April 28, 1939, at Arlington. He died Jan 5, 1975. She moved to Arlington in 1975.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington; and was active in the Arlington Over 60 Center.

Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Gary) Quast of San Lorenzo, Calif., and Doris Knecht of Arlington:; two brothers, Harry (and wife, Alberta) Dahlkoetter of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Alfred (and wife, Irene) Dahlkoetter of Ogallala.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

The Rev. Michael L. Rogers will officiate Monday’s service. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington.

A memorial has been established to the church.
