Raymond F. Knievel, 69

Raymond F. Knievel, 69, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at his home in Arlington.

A rosary and prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Military graveside services at the Arlington Cemetery will be conducted by members of American Legion Post No. 71 and V.F.W. Post No. 8332, both of Arlington.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Raymond F. Knievel was born Aug. 9, 1937, at Neligh to Carl and Rose (Woslager) Knievel. He grew up in Tilden and graduated from Tilden High School. He served in the United State Navy from June 7, 1955, until July 3, 1958. He moved to Omaha in 1959 and to Arlington in 1976. He retired after 41 years at Lucent Technologies in Omaha.

On April 25, 1959, he married Nancy O’Hearn in Omaha. His wife survives him, as do four daughters and sons-in-law, Christina and Dennis Pavlik, Rene Knievel and Ron Niziolek; and Mary Knievel, all of Arlington and Gina and Scott O’Doherty of Omaha; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Sandy Knievel of Tilden and Kevin and Holene Knievel of Neligh; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ray Brandt of Neligh and Carol and Wayne Whitwer of Poway, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Rose Knievel.

Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice Program.
