Mrs. Clark O'Hanlon, Sr. Died Friday Private Funeral Services Were Held Monday

A long time resident of Washingon county, Mrs. Clark O'Hanlon, Sr., died Friday morning at 1553 Grant.

Private funeral serviees were held this (Monday) morning at Campbell Mortuary with the Rev. Clair Olney officiating. Interment followed in Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. O'Hanlon, the former Bertha Jane Reed, was born October 3, 1872 in Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Reed. She lived to be past ninety years of age.

The family moved to Washington County in 1875 and settled in the DeSoto area. Mrs. O'Hanlon is a graduate of the Blair High School.

On September 1, 1893, she married Clark O'Hanlon, Sr. Except for a few years in Omaha, the family has continuously resided in Blair. Mr. O'Hanlon was a prominent Blair attorney and civic leader for 50 years. He passed away on January 23, 1940.

Mrs. O'Hanlon was active in many organizations in her early years and was one of Blair's most gracious hostesses. She was especially active in the Congregational Church, of which she was the oldest living member at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Monday Afternoon Club for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Reed O'Hanlon, Sr. and Philip O'Hanlon, both of Blair and Luther O'Hanlon of Los Angeles, California; a daughter Frances O'Hanlon of Blair, nine grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, two children preceded her in death. They were Charlotte Maude, who died at the age of eight years and Clark Carlyle who died at the age of six years.

Pallbearers were Reed O'Hanlon, Sr., Philip O'Hanlon, Clark O'Hanlon, Jr., James O'Hanlon, Robert O'Hanlon and Bill Samson.
