DEATH OF MRS. STEWART

At the Blair hospital Sunday, occurred the death of Mrs. Atha Stewart, relict of George A. Stewart. Deceased, whose maiden name was Loftin, was born in Polk county, Mo., in 1855. July 10, 1873, she was married to George A. Stewart, and after residing in Sheridan county three years, they came to Washington county. Seven children were born to them. Walter died at the age of two years; the other six, still living, are: Mrs. Delmar McCann, Arlington; Mrs. Ethel Graham, Curtis, Nebr.; Mrs. George Hoder, Howells, Nebr.; Mrs. Joseph Love, Mrs. Jennie Pilcher, Loftin Stewart, the youngest, 12 years old.

Mrs. Stewart had been a member of the Christian church for many years. The funeral service was held in that church Wednesday at 10 o’clock, conducted by the pastor Rev. Stansbury. Interment in Blair Cemetery.

After an illness of about three months, Mrs. George A. Stewart died Sunday evening at the Blair hospital of cancer on the liver. The funeral was held at the Christian church at 10:30 this morning, Rev. Stansbury, officiating. Miss Atha Loftin was born in Polk Co., Mo. in 1855 and was married at the old home to Mr. George A. Stewart July 10th, 1873. Three years later they came to Nebraska which has been her home ever since. Her husband died several years ago and of the seven children born to them six are now living: Mrs. Joe Love, Mrs. Jennie Pilcher, and Mrs. Drusie McCann, of this county; Mrs. Ethel Graham of Curtis, Neb., Mrs. Georgia Harder of Howells, Neb., and Loftin Stewart, who lives at home.

Mrs. Atha Stewart died Sunday evening at the local hospital and the funeral was held Wednesday morning from the Christian church, Rev. Stansbury officiating. Deceased was about 56 years old and leaves six children, Mrs. Joe Love, Mrs. Delmar McCann, Mrs. Chas. Pilcher, all of this county; and Mrs. Mike Harder of Howells. There is one son, Loftin, who had made his home with his mother.
