R. JANE STEWART, 79

R. Jane Stewart, 79, of Kennard, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair following a short illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Ruth Jane Stewart was born Jan. 21, 1920 to Jasper and Agnes (Bates) Rosenbaum on the family farm west of Kennard.

She attended grade school at Colby and graduated from Kennard High School in 1937.

The couple operated the Midway Café in Kennard.

Later, she worked for Wilkinson Manufacturing, HunTel, and retired from Great Plains Communication. After retiring, she worked with her husband as a park attendant for the Corp of Engineers.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard; United Methodist Women; Kennard American Legion Auxiliary; Royal Neighbors Lodge 1132; and Christian Women.

Prior to her death, she worked part time at D.L. Blair.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Rita Halligan; Lynn and Vernon Wulf; and Julie and Mark Kuhr; her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Nina Stewart; 12 grandchildren, Robin Peck, Rex Lambert, Michelle Olson, Mark and Mike Wulf, Mimi Cemer, Jamie Mohr, Jay and Jonna Stewart, Tera, Matt and Joel Kuhr, their spouses and 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Enid Andersen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irma Christensen, Audrey and Neal Andreasen, Bruce and Norma Stewart, George and Donna Stewart, Lloyd McCann; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; brother, Melvin Rosenbaum; son-in-law, Merle Halligan; and great-grandson, Tyler Cemer.

Memorials are suggested to Kennard Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund.
