Elder Phillip Steyer, who was buried at Forest Lawn cemetery from his Omaha home, lived for seventeen years on the big Coffman farm, where he was known as the cabbage king, planting as high as seventy thousand cabbage in one year. One year he made four hundred barrels of kraut and took a contract to furnish five hundred the next year, but dry weather ruined the crop. He was a hard-working German 70 years old, who had many friend, but for many years had been a great sufferer. He leaves a married daughter in Kansas, one in South Dakota and two others and three sons near here. He also leaves a widow in rather poor health.
