Irene M. Knight, 80

Irene M. Knight, 80, of Fort Calhoun, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2008.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at North West Hills United Church of Christ, 93rd and Fort streets, Omaha. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Omaha.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Braman Mortuary, 72nd Street Chapel in Omaha.

Irene M. (Raabe) Knight was born March 5, 1928, to Ed and Mary Raabe.

She was a life-long member of North West Hills United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and was a longtime resident of Fort Calhoun.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Keith L. Knight; children and their spouses, Mary and Mike Kennedy, Sherry and Rob Carrothers, and Keith and Annetta Knight, Jr.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine “Toots” Bastemeyer; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; a grandson, Keith Justin Knight; and great-granddaughter, Grace Kennedy.
