Arlington native Clyde R. Biffar, 89, of Chico, Texas, died May 13, 2009, in Chico. Graveside services were May 16 at the Chico Cemetery.

Clyde Raymond Biffar was born May 22, 1919, in Arlington to John and Winnifred Biffar.

On Feb. 23, 1956, he married Corinne Warrick in Onawa, Iowa.

He served in the United States Army Air Corps and retired from Chrysler where he was a mechanic.

He was an avid clock collector.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; daughters, Looie Biffar and Penny Pierce; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Mary Biffar; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Glenn and James; and a daughter, Elaine Sheffler.
