Lucille A. Fuhrer, 80

Lucille A. Fuhrer, age 80, of Blair, died April 21, 2015, at Good Shepherd Assisted Living in Blair.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Good Shepherd Community Chapel, 2242 Wright Street in Blair.

Lucille A. (Martin) Fuhrer was born on April 23, 1934, in South Dakota to Igena (Schweigart) Martin and Adolf Martin.

She is survived by her children: Linda (Denny) Grover of Mission, Texas, Cletus Fuhrer of Sioux City, Iowa, Deb Fuhrer of Blair, Tammy (Shane) Reeh of Blair; grandchildren: Ryan (Allyson) Marick, Julie Marick, Bobbi (Joe) Anania, Ashley (Tim) Anderson, Drew (Tracy) Jenson, Trever Reeh, Erin Reeh and Ivan Fuhrer; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Art (Pat) Martin of Naper, Neb., Adeline Austin of Payson, AZ, and June Graham of Hawthorne, Calif.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Fuhrer; brothers, Lester Martin and Earl Martin; and son, Craig Fuhrer.

Lucille married Robert Fuhrer in Spencer, Neb., on December 19, 1953. They moved in 1956 to Blair, where she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Lucille loved children and had an in-home daycare for many years. She enjoyed bowling on a women’s league and mixed league with her husband at the Husker Bowl in Blair. She loved cooking and enjoyed making her German family recipes for family and friends.

Lucille loved playing practical jokes that kept her young at heart. Her love of life and her feisty disposition will be missed by all.

Memorials may be directed in Lucille’s name to Good Shepherd Assisted Living in Blair.
