Funeral services for Emil Knudsen, age 91 of Blair, who died at his home July 21, 1990, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at First Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dave Nystrom officiating. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Emil C. Knudsen was born on June 29, 1899 at Herman, Nebraska to Peter and Karen Jensen Knudsen. He attended Hillcreek School west of Herman, Nebraska.

On September 19, 1919 he married Elsie Rasmussen in Blair, Nebraska. He worked various occupations in his lifetime. He farmed, was a carpenter, owned a freight line and truck farmed in Tekamah.

For the past twelve years they resided in Blair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, LaVern; six brothers; and two sisters.

Emil is survived by his wife, Elsie, seven children, Mrs. Vi Murphy, Wakefield, Nebraska; Hazel (Mrs. Harold) Gilliam Sr., Donald Knudsen, Shirley (Mrs. Everett) Murphy, all of Omaha; Earl Knudsen, Pueblo, Colorado; Jerry Knudsen, Ukiah, California; Vernon Knudsen, Collinsville, Illinois; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Knudsen of Minneapolis, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
