KENNETH LEROY OGDEN, 67

Kenneth Leroy Ogden, age 67, of Decatur, died at his home in Decatur on Tuesday evening, February 14th, 1989 after a lengthy period of failiing health.

Kenneth was born on January 18, 1922 at Sioux City, Iowa. On September 11, 1944 he married Helen F. Conklin at South Sioux City, Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, having spent a portion of that time overseas in Europe. He worked as an auto mechanic at Jim Goll's Tekamah Motors for twelve years, until retiring in February of 1978. Kenneth was a member of Rogers Crum American Legion Post #215 of Decatur.

Survivors include his wife, Helen F. Ogden of Decatur; two sons, David Ogden of San Diego, California and Dennis Ogden of Oakland, Nebraska; one daughter, Betty Hoffner of Wiggins, Colorado; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers, Walter Mitchell of Omaha, Dale Mitchell of Walthill and Wayne Mitchell of Macy and two sisters, Alice Storm and Mary Jean Leinart, both of Walthill.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, George and Iona (Huff) Mitchell.

Funeral services were held at 2:00p.m. on Friday, February 17, 1989 at the Decatur United Methodist Church in Decatur with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur with Military Graveside Honors by the Decatur V.F.W. and American Legion Posts.

Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
