Louis Knudsen, Former Spiker Man Dies At Fremont

Louis Knudsen, a native and resident of Washington County for nearly sixty years, died at his home in Fremont last Tuesday morning at the age of 81. The retired carpenter lived most of his life in the Spiker community. He was a carpenter by trade. He retired 22 years ago and moved to Fremont where he had since made his home.

He was born October 3, 1890 near Spiker.

He was married January 10, 1912 at Blair to Mary Rasmussen. He was a member of the first Lutheran Church at Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, and by two sons. They are Elmer Knudsen of St. Cloud, Minn., and Earl Knudsen of Waite Park, Minn. There are six grandchildren, 16 great-grand-children. Three brothers also survive. They are: Clarence of Minneapolis, John of Ames, Iowa, Emil of Tekamah, Nebr. He has two sisters: Mrs. Henry (Amanda) Rasmussen of Herman and Mrs. Gerald (Irene) Blagg of The Dalles, Ore.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 8 at the Bader, Razonek, Lawson Funeral Home at Fremont. The Rev. James Munter will be the officiating minister and burial will be made in the Orum cemetery west of Blair.

Visitations at the funeral home start at 1 o’clock today.
