Virginia A. Janulewicz, 88

Virginia A. Janulewicz, 88, of Blair, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Virginia A. Lewandowski was born Jan. 17, 1922, in Loup City, to Stanley and Antonia (Spotanski) Lewandowski.

In May of 1944, she married Tom Janulewicz at her father's farm, east of Loup City. The couple had three daughters. They farmed near Loup City until they moved to Omaha, where her husband worked at the Armour Meat Packing Plant and Mrs. Januelwicz worked for Henry and Sam Greenberg at the Phillips Department Store in south Omaha for many years.

On October 2, 1982, after the death of her husband, she married Henry Janulewicz, and was blessed with the addition to the family of his two children. They lived east of Loup City on their farm for more than 20 years before moving to Blair.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Alice Kunes of Bellevue, Janette McLaughlin of Omaha, and Karen and John Grinberg of Blair; stepchildren, Jane Zeleski and husband Randy of Lexington, and Gary Janulewicz of Greeley, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Tom, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd, Ray, and Gilbert; and sister Amelia.
