Thomas R. Cochran, 69, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at his home in Blair.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be held at a later date at the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Thomas Roy Cochran was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Columbus to Joseph and Ella Emma (Mueller) Cochran. He attended Kramer High School in Columbus, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and the University of Minnesota, where he graduated from Mortuary College.

He married Janice Peterson on June 3, 1967, in Blair.

He served in the U. S. Army from August 1960 until July 1963.

The couple lived in Blair, Seward, York, Grand Island and Columbus, where he was a licensed funeral director. Mr. Cochran worked at the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair, Livingston-Sonderman Funeral Home in Grand Island, Gass-Haney Funeral Home in Columbus for 20 years, and part-time at Duesman Funeral Home in Humphrey and Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, was a former member of the Izaak Walton League, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, National Wildlife Federation, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.

He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya and Eric Sieh of Blair, Romona and Dale Cotner of York, Jody and Lonnie Penry of Blair, Pam and Mike Cushman of Blair, a son, Monte Block of Bozeman, Mont.; nine grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Wanda Cochran of Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan, and his parents.
