Services were Wednesday, March 20 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont for James R. Coday, 52 of Nickerson who died March 16, 1991 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lincoln. Rev. Charles Swanson officiated. Burial was at Ridge Cemetery with military graveside services by members of Fremont Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the American Legion Post.

James R. Coday was born November 26, 1938 in Atkinson. He lived in Fremont most of his life. He moved to Nickerson in 1987.

He was a graduate of Creighton University in Omaha and served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War from March 1960 to April, 1962. A plumber, he had most recently worked at Platte Mechanical of Fremont.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont.

Survivors include his parents, Ray and Rose Coday of Fremont; three daughters, Cynthia Vyhlidal, Sandra (Mrs. Kevin) Gallatin and Pamela Coday, all of Fremont; a brother, Bill Coday of Fremont; four sisters, Judy Coday, Kathy (Mrs. Leo) Geaghan and Teri (Mrs. Jim) Osborn, all of Fremont and Barb (Mrs. Butch) Wimple of Michigan and four grandchildren.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
