Services for Russell Coffee, age 76 of Plattsmouth, formerly of Blair, who died at University Hospital in Omaha December 28, 1993 will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 3 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Russell E. Coffee was born December 21, 1917 at Liberty, Nebraska to William and Minnie Porterfield Coffee. He was raised in the Blue Springs and Wymore, Nebraska area, and graduated from Barnston High School in 1936.

He entered the Army in1936 as an enlistee and retired from the military in 1967 as a captain. He served in the South Pacific during World War II and in Korea during the Korean Conflict.

After his retirement he lived at Nashville, Ft. Calhoun and Blair. He moved to Plattsmouth during 1993.

He married Ruth Bernadine Rich October 30, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ivan Coffee, Willard Coffee and Norris Coffee.

Surviving him in death is his wife, Ruth; two sons and daughter-in-law, Russell and Ann Coffee, Omaha and Jim and Mary Ann Coffee, Plattsmouth; six grandchildren, Patrick Coffee, Kimberly Waring, Teri Coffee, Kelly Coffee, Chris Coffee and David Coffee and one great-grandson, Nicholas Waring.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge.
