L. Virgene Kimsey, 85

L. Virgene "Jeanne" Kimsey, 85, of Blair, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Carter House in Blair from complications of Alzheimer's.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31 at the Blair United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Jeanne Wilcoxson was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Farragut, Iowa, to Harry and Myrtle (Keyser) Wilcoxson. She was a graduate of Sidney (Iowa) High School.

On April 17, 1945, she married John Roy "J. R." Kimsey in Troy, Kan. In their early years of marriage, they lived in Clarinda and Shenandoah, Iowa. In 1958, they moved to Blair. Mrs. Kimsey attended Capitol Beauty School in Omaha to become a cosmetologist, opening her Charm Inn Beauty Shoppe in 1966. She owned the shop at the time of her death.

She was a member of the Blair United Methodist Church and participated in the United Methodist Women Circles. She was a member of the Eastern Star, holding various offices including Worthy Matron. Her main interest was her family and their activities.

She is survived by four children, Rod and Donna Heivilin of Shoreline, Wash., Sheila and Harry Kellenbarger of Lincoln, Claudia and Ken Johnson of Blair, and John Kimsey of Omaha; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R., and a sister, Jody Wilcoxson.

Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Children's Home, the Alzheimer's Association or the Blair United Methodist Church.
