#1-Published in the Tribune 13 Sept 1923 HARRY BLANTON GOES TO HIS ETERNAL REST

Harry Blanton passed away at his home in this city, Thursday, Sept. 6, 1923, aged 35 years, after an illness of some time from leakage of the heart.

Harry Harland Blanton was born in Sac City, Iowa, February 4, 1888, and was married July 7, 1912, to Miss Dena Andersen of Blair, and to them five children were born, two of them preceded their father in death. Those surviving are Harry, jr., Virgil LeRoy, and Juanita Maxine.

The subject of this sketch was a hard working young man and was held in high esteem by those who knew him. He was a member of the Christian church, from which place his funeral was held on Sunday afternoon and was largely attended, Rev. H.L. Camp, presiding at the obsequies, and speaking words of comfort to the sorrowing ones.

Besides the widow and children there survives to mourn his death two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Milbourn of Omaha, and Mrs. Fannie Stewart of Gillette, Wyo.; four brothers, Clarence, of Omaha; John, Ogden, Utah; Matthew, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and David of Fremont, and his aged mother at Cherokee, Iowa.

Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

#2-Pilot, September 12, 1923

Harry Harland Blanton died of pneumonia, following an illness of about two weeks, at his home in Dexterville, this city, last Thursday and the funeral was held at the Christian church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, Rev. L.H. Camp officiating. He was born in Sac City, Ia., February 4th, 1888, and was, therefore, past 35 years of age. On July 7th, 1912, he was married to Miss Dena Andersen and five children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. The three living are Harry, jr., Virgil LeRoy and Juanita Maxine. Besides these children and the wife he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Milbourn of Omaha, and Mrs. Fannie Stewart, of Gillette, Wyo. Also four brothers, Clarence, of Omaha, John, of Ogden, Utah, Matthew, of Cedar Falls, Ia., and David of Fremont, Neb., and his aged mother, who lives at Cherokee, Ia. The young mother and her three small children have the sympathy of the entire community.

Harry Harland Blanton was born in Sac City, Ia. February 4, 1888, and passed on to his eternal reward at his home in Blair September 6, 1923.

On July 7, 1912 he was united in holy matrimony to Miss Dena Andersen. To this union were born five children, two of whom preceded their father to the Great Beyond. The three that remain to cheer and brighten the pathway of the mother are Harry, Jr., Virgil Leroy and Juanita Maxine.

Besides these children, there are two sisters Mrs. Rosa Melbourne of Omaha and Mrs. Fannie Stewart of Gillette, Wyo. Four brothers, Clarence of Omaha; John of Ogden, Utah; Matthew of Cedar Falls, Ia.; David of Fremont and a mother of Cherokee, Ia., who are left to finish life’s journey without him.

Brother Blanton united with the Church of Christ in 1914, and died feeling that he was not afraid or ashamed to meet his Savior face to face.

The funeral was held from the Church of Christ Sunday p.m., and his body lies at rest in the Blair cemetery.
