John A. Forsberg, 88

John A. Forsberg was born to Francis and Ruth Forsberg on the family farm in Washington County, Neb., on May 12, 1926, and peacefully passed away on April 27, 2015, at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, Ariz.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1943; joined the United States Maritime Service in 1944, where he served as radio operator on a U.S. Merchant Ship in World War II; married Ruby Klindt in 1946, when the two began their family. Several years later, John and Ruby relocated to Arizona, leaving Nebraska as a well-known entrepreneur and loving family. Shortly after moving to Arizona, he then took on the role at the Apache Junction Elks Lodge and assisted with the organization for American Merchant Marines Veterans.

John loved his family beyond words. He is survived by his eldest daughter, Linda Drenkhahn (Randy); youngest son, Timothy Forsberg (Linda); sister, LaVerne Lieberknecht (Richard); grandson, John Forsberg (Daelunn); granddaughter, Sandy Drenkhahn; granddaughter, Elaine Bullard (Lance); and his four great-grandchildren, who were the light of his eyes: Kaylin and Brody Bullard, Mariah Chase and Jessica Forsberg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ruth; brother, Gerald Forsberg (Drusilla); and middle son, Jeffrey Forsberg.

Graveside services will be at the Blair Cemetery May 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
