Vivian Faye Knudsen, 86

Services were Monday, Jan. 13 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Grand Junction, Iowa for Vivian Faye Knudsen, 86, who died Jan. 9, 1997 at Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa. Rev. Lynn Wyatt officiated. Burial was in the Junction Twp. Cemetery at Grand Junction.

Vivian Faye Knudsen was born on a farm near Grand Junction, Iowa to Noah and Hattie Morse Thompson. She attended school in Grand Junction.

While living in the Omaha area, she met and married, in 1937, Gunnar Black Knudsen, who was a traveling salesman. A homemaker during her life, she lived in several communities in Nebraska, including Blair and Iowa with her family. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Boone in 1990.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Roberta Anderson, who died in 1982; six brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Gunner of Boone; a son, Wayne Knudsen of Omaha; two brothers, O.J. Thompson of Grand Junction and Archie Thompson of Dawson, Iowa; a sister, Fern Thompson of Grand Junction; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Tom Anderson, Matt Anderson, Kent Knudsen, Alfred Knudsen, Leonard Knudsen and Tom Wachtor.

Marilynn Hoskinson was organist and soloist.
